Stephen F. Hupka Diversity Scholarship

The Stephen F. Hupka Diversity Scholarship, established by Christ the King School in 2014, will provide tuition and other assistance to a Catholic student(s) of racial or ethnic minority who is a member of Christ the King Parish (Nashville), St. Vincent De Paul Parish (Nashville), or Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish (Nashville) and who are enrolled or plan to enroll at Christ the King School ("CKS"). CKS names this Scholarship to honor the exceptional generosity of Stephen F. Hupka, a long-time parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Scholarship Criteria

Applicants are evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Class Availability
  • Academic record and academic achievements
  • Extracurricular and community activities
  • Financial need 
  • The recommendation letters submitted in support of the applicant

Application Process

CLICK HERE to download the scholarship application. All applicants must submit completed applications to the CKS Office on or before December 1. CKS will notify finalists for the Scholarship and schedule interviews on or before January 31. The recipients will be announced on or before February 28.

Selected Scholarships are awarded to current students based on various criteria.

Art & Music Scholarships: Awarded to rising 8th graders, funded by the annual school fundraiser, A Crown Affair.

Coach Cat (Dan Catignani '70) Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a rising 5th-8th grader, funded by the Coach Cat Christmas Classic and various donors and sponsors, made possible by Britton Catignani, daughter of Dan, and good friend, Chuck Curran.

The Debbie Oldham "Mrs. O" Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to a rising 1st or 2nd grader, made possible by Danny Oldham, Debbie's husband, Chuck Curran, and generous sponsors.

The Griffin Bauer '11 Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to any student who gives 110%, made possible by Bill Bauer, Griffin's dad.

The Herb Williams Memorial Scholarship: Awarded to rising 7th or 8th grader, made possible by Chuck and Pam Curran.

The Mary Ann (Neuhoff) Sullivan Legacy Memorial Scholarship: Awarded preferably to a Legacy student, made possible by George Sullivan, Mary Ann's husband.

The Patricia Van Echop Math Scholarship: Awarded to a top math student, in honor of former CKS teacher, Patricia Van Echop, made possible by Mrs. Van Echop's daughter, Kay Quinn.

The St. Charles Family Scholarship: Awarded to a rising 8th grader, made possible by the St. Charles Family.

The Women's Council Scholarship: Awarded to a CKS student, made possible by the CTK Women's Council.
