First Grade Newsletter
: each Friday an updated newsletter is posted on the website and a hard copy is sent home in the Friday Folder.
Friday Folders:
all papers form the week are sent home in the Friday Folder each Friday. Parents are asked to review the work and sign and return the folder on Monday.
Agendas:
students write their homework in their agendas daily. Parents are to review the homework, sign, and return the agenda each day.
Homework folders
: homework will be placed in the homework folder daily and should be returned to school the following day.
Sight words
: new sight words are added each Monday to the sight word bag to study at home. Sight word bags must stay in your child's back pack.
Spelling pre tests
: spelling pre tests are given on Thursday. If a 100% is earned then the student is exempt from the Friday test.
Weekly AR test
: students are
required to take an AR test each week
. After your child has read the book or after the parent has read the book with the child, the parent will write a note or email to the teacher stating the name of the book and that their child is ready to test.
