Meet Incoming Principal Alan Mila

principal alan milaDear Christ the King Faculty and Parents,

It is with great excitement I write to you as the incoming principal of Christ the King School. I am truly honored to become part of the school community after being part of the Christ the King parish for many years. Christ the King School is a special place with a tremendous reputation throughout the Diocese, and I look forward to working with each of you as a partner in your child’s formation and education.

I, like so many others in Nashville, am a transplant to Tennessee, originally from the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. I came to Nashville as a teacher in the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) program at the University of Notre Dame. What started as a two-year placement at Pope John Paul II High School teaching mathematics evolved into a twelve-year stay. I taught mathematics, coached men’s and women’s soccer, and served as Athletic Director and Director of Student Activities during my tenure. I left JPII for Saint Henry School where I have been the Assistant Principal for the last four years.

Looking forward to this summer, I plan to spend a lot of time meeting with the faculty and staff to understand the community and the unique needs and opportunities of our great school. I believe all children deserve a relevant and rigorous education and experiences that stretch the boundaries of their learning. I hope to build strong relationships with our parents, teachers, and those in the broader parish community to bring these experiences to life for our students.

I eagerly await the start of the new school year as we collaboratively seek to achieve our school goals and to propel Christ the King into its next phase.

Sincerely in Christ,
Alan Mila Signature
