How strong is the academic preparation at CKS?

Our students are succeeding at the national level in math, reading and writing. Plus, with a 99 median Iowa Composite across all grades, Christ the King is one of the top elementary schools in the Diocese of Nashville. Multiple Christ the King graduates have become National Merit Scholars, and have been accepted and attended St. Cecilia, Father Ryan High School, Pope John Paul II Preparatory School, Ensworth, Montgomery Bell Academy and Hume Fogg Magnet School. We offer an accelerated program in math and reading and provide a learning specialist for students who need extra support.

Are there fine arts and music classes at CKS?

Yes! Students can participate in chorus, band (with two concerts each year), Sing-A-Longs, and a drama group for middle school students. Private piano, guitar and voice lessons are also offered.

What is faith life like at CKS?

We offer religious education programs that promote a love of God, our neighbors and community. We accept students of all faiths and ethnicities, and encourage all students to participate in service activities including serving the poor and homeless through Room in the Inn, as well as outreach projects with the Room in the Inn, Juvenile Diabetes Association, Catholic Charities and more.

Is there an aftercare program?

Grow Academy manages the aftercare program at CKS from 3:15-6:00pm on regular school days. Students are given snacks, homework time and play time outside.
